June 11th is the day to give back to your beach, your river, your amazing (and tolerate) outdoor playground.
This weekend Martin Dorey and his #2minutebeachclean and #2minutelitterpick are encouraging everyone to give back just a little.
‘The clue is in the title – all we’re asking is for two minutes of your time. All you do is go out and do it! Pick up some litter for a couple of minutes and then snap it, tag it with #2minutebeachclean or #2minutelitterpick and bin it or recycle it to help make our world a nicer place.”
Pretty simple you’ll agree. And every little helps. “Every piece of plastic that you remove from the marine environment is no longer a danger to the animals that still live there. They won’t break down into micro plastics, strangle seabirds or mammals or end up being ingested”.
What starts as a single rolling pebble could lead to beautiful landslides as we all take a little more responsibility and ownership of the parks, fields, forests and beaches that we love so much and give us such exquisite pleasures.
