Whitburn beaches excellent for 2010?

January 12, 2011 | Words By: Howard

The Environment Agency have declared Whitburn beaches as excellent for 2010. Make your own mind up.

Photos sent to us by Bob Latimer, who runs a fish restaurant in Whitburn. The sewage system appears to be too full and surcharging constantly, which leads to the beach pollution.

Bob has several documents, including a Sunderland beach report from 1 August 2008 recording that there was so much sewage debris on the beach, that the resort personel could not estimate the amount. Please get in contact with him directly, should you wish to see more evidence of this ongoing issue.
