Bristol gets The Wave

South Gloucestershire council has granted planning permission to the in-land surfing experience The Wave at Washingpool Farm in Easter Compton.

The Wave is a unique surfing experience that brings surfing, nature and education together. At the centre of the development will be a freshwater lagoon, which will use Wavegarden technology by Instant Sport in Spain (the same team behind the Snowdonia lagoon) to generate perfect surfing waves for experienced surfers and beginners alike.
