THE DEATH OF COOL cruiser
Originally from Brittany, in north west France, Clément Bouchonneau isn’t the type of guy who’d follow the yellow brick marketing road to the surf/skate industry. In addition to his geographical position, Clement chose to take the exact opposite direction to mass production, and to soulless product designs.
So after obtaining an art degree at the school Boule in Paris, Clément Bouchonneau decided to put his sense of aesthetics and craftmanship into practice by working wood, and he gave birth to some extremely atypicial skateboards, with a sixties influence and beautiful finishing touches. WOODIART was born.
An ode to DIY and to the unique spirit of surf/skateboarding, each piece of work is a collector’s item; WOODIART and DESILLUSION magazine; a match made in heaven. THE DEATH OF COOL cruiser was born from this encounter.
Inspired by Desillusion’s world, THE DEATH OF COOL cruiser is a skateboard shaped entirely by hand, made with a mélange of different wood “Iroco-Chestnut-Ipe-Mahogany-pear”, fixed onto Gull Wing 150mm trucks and Polyurethane wheels 50mm (Abec 3 precision).
The cruiser comes with it’s own “Mini coffin” box, a coffin shape made from mahogany and iroco. The insides are padded with real leather and feature a brass chain to hold the board. Produced in ultra limited edition THE DEATH OF COOL cruiser by WOODIART is available only at THE GARAGE, Desillusion mag’s online shop.
