4th Hamburg Surf Festival

April 12, 2011 | Words By: Staff Writer

Surf, skate, arts, movies, tradeshow and party – the Hamburg Surf Festival is back. During four days from the 12th to 15th of May 2011, HHonolulu Events gives you the opportunity to experience the world of surfing and discover the waterways of Hamburg from a new perspective.

Surfers and those who want to become one will find everything that increases their heart beat at the Goldbekhaus right on the canal in Winterhude: Artists and photographers will put their work on display so you can get away from the busy city life and dive into the world of surfing. The skate park and stand up paddle board test center invite to participate and the tradeshow offers everything from clothing over boards to travel information that you want for your next surf trip. Not only the 40 exhibitors will astonish Hamburg this weekend but also the musicians and surf fanatics who convey their passion for surfing.

The festival will be opened on Thursday night with a surf movie premiere at Zeise cinemas in Hamburg-Altona followed by the “King of the Kueste” – surf contest on Friday at the artificial wave in Bispingen. Everyone has the chance to prove themselves in the wave and be crowned “King of the Kueste” at the evening party at Terrace Hill Club back in Hamburg – St.Pauli.

“This year’s focus is clearly set on participation and activity. There are three different opportunities to try different board sports, whether it’s in the artificial wave, the skate park or on the canal with a stand up paddle board. We as surfers want to show Hamburg what the passion about saltwater and waves is all about and provide a platform to all those who share this passion” says organiser, Florian Laudon.
Detailed information and news about the festival are found on www.surf-festival.com.
