Special screening of multi-award winning ‘North of the Sun’
This Saturday Approaching Lines is stoked to present a very special charity screening of the multi-award winning ‘North of the Sun’ an inspiring film of perseverance and discovery. The film show takes place Saturday, 6 September, 8.00 PM at Driftwood Spars, St Agnes, Cornwall.
Inge Wegge and Jørn Ranum spent nine cold, dark, winter months living on a remote, arctic island off the northern coast of Norway. On an isolated bay edged by the vast potential of the Atlantic they surfed frigid waves fringed by deep snow before retreating to the cabin they built from driftwood and other materials that washed ashore, foraging for food, watched over by the Northern Lights. They brought with them stoke, humor and surfboards, and left nothing but footprints behind. ‘North of the Sun’ is a Stoked and Broke for the cold water tribe - a real staycation epic on zero bucks at zero degrees!
“North of the Sun is a real celebration of cold water surfing and the pioneering spirit” says Approaching Lines Director Chris Nelson of the highly acclaimed film that won Best Documentary and Viewer’s Choice at London Surf / Film Festival and scooped a further 17 awards at events around the globe. “We delighted to be able to showcase such an inspiring and stoke filled adventure at this very special screening in the Cornish heartlands.”
Tickets are just £5, with all proceeds to National Trust and available from Aggie Surf Shop, Chapel Porth Beach Café and Driftwood Spars in St Agnes plus The Jam Jar in Newquay.
