It’s that time of year again – public voting is open for the 2016 London Surf / Film Festival Shorties! The submissions are in and the long list of short films is up on the site and waiting for you to vote for your favorites.
There are some very high quality films to watch. In fact 19 for a total of 95 minutes. I’ve watched them all and am struggling to pick the best.
LS/FF Director Demi Taylor said “we founded The Shorties in 2011 to showcase the wealth of creativity on our shores and since it’s inception Shorties films and their filmmakers have gone on to make an impact on the global stage. This year the bar has been pushed even higher with submissions from established, emerging, professional and student creatives. We’re asking the surf community to get involved, to spread the word and support independent filmmaking.”
Voting is open until midnight Thursday 8th September 2016 on the LS/FF website.
Shortlisted entries will be showcased on the big screen as part of the 2016 London Surf / Film Festival (presented by REEF) which runs from 22nd September to 1st October 2016. Films will be considered for prestigious awards by the screening panel, comprised of some of the most influential names in surfing.
