The brainchild of former WQS surfer Sam Lamiroy, The Leveller is a new and innovative collaboration between local schools and colleges and the grassroots surf scene.
The result? A unique surf competition that took place at Sennen Cove, preceded by coaching from top instructors and pro surfers alike, and a top-to-bottom beach clean up.
Saturday the 25th October saw the 2nd Edition of the Approaching Lines 5 to 1 Fin Fair, presented by Reef go off. On the morning that saw summer officially transition into winter, finned fanatics of all persuasions came together at Porthtowan, Cornwall for this one-day gathering celebrating the art of wave-riding and the humble skeg.
A glimpse into the life of those few adventurous surfers, film makers and photographers who are dedicating themselves to finding and documenting waves in some of the more interesting, and challenging regions on the planet. This is about riding waves, but it is also about the other experiences that occur along the way, which all make for a good story at the end of the day.

Fresh from the London Surf Film Festival, Finisterre have released the short film ‘Cold water surfing: Edges of Sanity’. Directed by Chris McClean, the film was shot on location off Scotland’s north-west coast and features a poem by Dan Crockett, read by none other than Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance.
