Ireland's fierce and unpredictable breaks have been valued by its home-grown big wave riders for some years now, but competition has been a long time coming. All that changed with the inaugral Mullaghmore Tow Session 2011. Conn Osborne got in harm's way to steal a photo essay.

Brother of the weird #1

May 31, 2012 | Words By: Staff Writer

There are so many brands, labels, magazines and shops that share Desillusion’s way of seeing the world that they decided to do a series of short documentaries about them, called Brother of the weird.

An ode to DIY, to independence and creativity, dedicated to counterculture activists, to new scenes, new brands and to all the people who, in their own way, manage to bring a new, innovative vision to a movement.

For the first episode, Desillusion went down under to Sydney, Australia, to meet Campbell Milligan, co-creator of Monster Children magazine. A media reference to the surf, skate and snowboard counterculture, Monster Children quickly became popular thanks to their ideas and original format, and can now be read all over the world.
