Prowlers

February 04, 2011 | Words By: Staff Writer

Northcore have released a short film today onto their Youtube channel and via their Facebook page, with an interview and footage of the first man to ride Prowlers, the newly exposed Big Wave spot on the West coast of Ireland, Richie Fitzgerald.

The revealing of the big wave spot called Prowlers, literally exploded in the press on 08th November last year. Until then it was a closely guarded secret and its exact location will remain so but in this interview, Fitzgerald the Northcore brand ambassador, explains how and when the wave was discovered, how it breaks, who named it and he also discusses the future of tow in surfing in Ireland and the possiblities of someone riding a 100ft wave off the Emerald Isle. The film is a brief but fascinating insight into Prowlers, including footage and stills from the now famous session on 08th Nov 2010.
