First Hotdoggers single fin event

By Ben · On September 10, 2013

First Hotdoggers single fin eventThe first single fin event of the season was finally run after a few cancellations, down at Saunton beach. Despite small, slightly onshore waves the standard of surfing throughout was amazing and everyone put in a huge effort.

It was really good to have an event with only single fin boards as it is a bit different to the usual events and allows people to showcase their talent and ease with these boards. It was great to have the likes of James Parry who is renowned to be one of the best nose riders and traditional longboarders in Europe. Everyone is already looking forward to the next event and one has been pencilled in for next Saturday.

All the proceeds from the competition and the money raised from a BBQ held at lunchtime is going towards sending the British team to Peru for the ISA world longboard games.

A huge thank you must go out to Norman Wright for organising the event as well as all of the Judges who were sat in the rain and cold all day, as well as everyone else who helped make the event run smoothly.

Results:
1st = Ben Haworth
2nd = James Parry
3rd = Jack Unsworth
4th = Claire Smaile
