Save The Waves Coalition halts Chille development

A three-month construction freeze on Chille’s most revered left-hand point, Punta de Lobos has been obtained by Save the Waves and local group Comité Defensa.

This is seen as a huge step towards protecting and saving this beautiful raw coastline from the continual onslaught of residential and commercial development that is blighting the coastline’s natural state.

Respected Chilean big-wave surfer and Save The Waves ambassador, Ramón Navarro, describes the initial result “I am super excited about what we’ve been able to achieve so far. Our dream is keep Lobos as it is, for the future and for the next generation. We have the opportunity and responsibility to do this now.”
