Voting now open for the 2014 London Surf / Film Festival Shorties

By Jack · On September 4, 2014

shorties_thumbVoting is now open for the 2014 London Surf / Film Festival Shorties competition presented by REEF.
18 shorts from the very cream of British and Irish filmmaking talent have been longlisted and are available to watch, enjoy and vote for over at londonsurffilmfestival.com – that’s some 90 minutes of sublime surf films right there, so if you love surf movies, your day just got a whole lot better.

“We established The Shorties short film contest as a way to support and showcase homegrown surf filmmakers and celebrate the wealth of creative talent on British and Irish shores,” says Festival Director Chris Nelson. “Every year we’re blown away by the sheer quality and diversity of films entered and this year, the bar has been raised yet again, it speaks volumes about the creativity that is thriving in our surf community.

After careful deliberation, 18 films have been longlisted, so we are asking the wider surf community to get involved, to support independent filmmaking, vote on their favourite entries and help us select the short list of films to be showcased at this year’s London Surf / Film Festival.”

Voting is open until midnight on Sunday 14th September 2014. Check out the longlisted entries and cast your votes at: www.londonsurffilmfestival.com/shorts/2014

The shortlist will be decided by a combination of peer votes cast by the wider surf community and votes cast by the screening panel. The selected films will be showcased on the big screen as part of the 4th Annual London Surf / Film Festival, presented by REEF, 9-12 October 2014 at Genesis, East London.
