South Coast winter greys

November 23, 2010 | Words By: Howard

Meet Dan English. He’d rather be surfing than shooting, but when he does we get an insight into waves in the English Channel.

Dan resides deep within the hills on the South Coast of England. He started photography to document what was happening around him when he is not surfing as a form of self expression. He prefers black and white photography, as it conveys the mood of his surroundings more precisely than colour, although he still shoots colour and continues to use film. He concentrates on distorting the reality of objects and light during his surfing experience. Dan shoots with a Fuji Fine Pix S2000HD.

  1. Nice photos. The black & white gives it something moody. Keep up the good work!

  2. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH YYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHH !! Good to see these photos that grab the whole picture…blown out dog walkers, salty tired eyes contemplating ‘one more wave’?, alongside the much sought after quiet clean days, line after line…… Keep up the good work Dan!
