Planet Surf Festival

Founded in 1990, the association celebrates its 20th anniversary with the PLANET SURF FESTIVAL, from 23 October to 1 November 2010, in Biarritz.


This year’s festival will consist of two events, firstly the France Surf Championship organised by the Surf French Federation where Surfrider Europe is the main sponsor; and also a festival for the 20th anniversary of the Association with a diverse agenda including:

Educational Exhibitions
An educational tour at the Grande Plage for the general public made up of various activities and an environment quiz competition
A retrospective on the 20 years of Surfrider actions
A lineup of films at the cinema Royal concerning themes such as surfing, the ocean and the environment
A surfing competition for the Surfrider members (staff, volunteers, etc…) evaluated by the official judges of the competition
An evening concert with a variety of artists, projection of the film 20 years of Surfrider and the presence of Surfrider ambassadors
The second meeting of the platform
Opening ceremony of the Centre for Environmental Education
The days of Atlantic local chapters (Saturday 30 and Sunday, October 31)
A Tag Team surfing competition on October 30 and 31

You can already start to organize your team for the weekend of 30 and 31 October. Depending on conditions, the competition will be held on either Saturday or Sunday on the official site of the France Surf Championship in Biarritz: Grande Plage, Côte des Basques or Miramar.

From mid-September, you will be able to officially register your team using a downloadable form from Surfrider.eu Only the first 100 registered people will participate, so be ready to register!
