Russell Ord: big wave shots

July 03, 2009 | Words By: Angela

photo by russell ordBased in Australia but regularly jetting off around the world, Russell is a surf photographer for hire. These are just a few of his incredible big-wave shots - unbelievable… You can see more of Russell’s work at www.russellord.com.

“I have been a photographer for ten years, and am based in Margaret River,WA, with my wife Catherine and three kids Kalani, Tavian and Ayla. Although I am currently a senior photographer for Tracks, I consider myself more of a freelancer having had work published all around the world in such magazines as Surfer’s Journal / Surfer Mag / Water / National Geographic / Surfing Life / Tracks / Waves / Surfing World / Surfers Path. I like to work with crew that would give up a guaranteed session to find an out-of-the-way slab or beach break. I like to do my own stuff and avoid the crowds, which is getting a lot harder these days.”
