In words reminiscent to a James Bond movie the well travelled Sunset Sons have announced the release of their debut album Very Rarely Say Die for April 2016.
Chauvinistic, drunkards, sex-obsessed, deadly, suave and professional are all words for our beloved Bond although I’m sure the lads would be the first to put their hands up for a few of those if they weren’t so damn busy making superheros of themselves.
Without a doubt Sunset Sons are going from strength to stratosphere. A BBC nomination, a new album, a new single and a UK and European arena tour is a testament to how far the band once know as The Cheerleaders has come.
The sweaty ski resort bars certainly seem a lifetime ago as the Anglo-Aussie group, from their adopted hometown of Hossegor, tackle the world stage and hobnob with the stars. Most notably their new album has seen excellent collaborations with showbiz producers Jacquire King from the Kings of Leon and James Lewis from the Arctic Monkeys.
The tour begins in Newcastle on 23 March, hits London’s KOKO on 06 April and will then take the band on a 17 date European leg. Sounds exhausting and it probably is. But with the weight of public expectation mounting behind Sunset Sons we are guessing this is only the start of the beginning…
