reefA campaign highlighting one of the most contentious environmental decisions this year. In January, The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority confirmed a plan to dump five million tonnes of dredge spoil inside the World Heritage Site to expand the Abbot Point port.
The decision by the body tasked with protecting The Great Barrier Reef has disgusted and angered the scientific community, especially after it emerged that the project was authorised despite scientists recommending that it be abandoned.
