“We surf the snow, the snow melts into the rivers. We surf the rivers and the rivers flow to the ocean. That’s what is cool about surfing, there is no end it is just a continuous evolution,” said surfer Kevin Benhart Brown.
This short film highlights the growing river surfing scene and documents the transition from traditional ocean surfing haunts into new realms like ice cold mountain tributaries.
“It isn’t about getting old. It’s just about adapting and progressing,” Brown added.
The film is shot in some of the most inland spots in the USA; Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, and with an epic ten hour+ drive from central Montana to the ocean you can completely understand their resourcefulness. Combine that with fresh mountain air, little question or fear of water pollution and waves to yourself – it makes you want to run to the river.
