I found Mikey's website in Spring, and was looking for someone to shape a fish for me. He's a top guy who really listens to, and delivers, what you want! The fish he shaped me (it's the one with the Gephart fins pictured above!) is beautiful and just fly's!! Now I gotta get in the water more and actually do it some justice...
Thanks Mikey!!

Hey Mikey,

Love what you and the guys are doing, setting a true path in surf culture D-I-Y and enriching our surfing life like others who truly love surfing and the roots of surf culture. One would have to concur with the sentiments of your fellow supporters - true surfers love uniqueness, hand made wave craft and riding waves in all it's forms...

...The Dud does not state what he thinks a good board is - i fancy he may actually think of your boards as good (and i will give him the benefit of the doubt) - but what is a good surf shop? A shop that carrys all the soulless tat from multi-billion dollar turn-over companies who no longer have anything to do with surfing but hold their share-holders interests above those of their fellow surfers? Should you carry stickers and decals and imported boards from around the globe in order to promote celebrity and to be 'sponsored' by association if you buy enough of their products?...

Perhaps it's simply that The Dud does not like your particular line in aesthetics, and we're all entitled to an opinion on the intricacies of fine art...

But i will stand shoulder to shoulder with you my friend, and any other independent craftsman pouring their soul into their one true love, surfing! I've been an admirer of your craft for many years and the evolution of your craft and refinement of your skill is refreshing and inspiring....

So keep on keeping on Bro, and next time i'm in sunny wadebridge i'll pop in for a cuppa and a tee!

I'm already feeling sorry for the harsh words to the dud. I shouldn't bad mouth people, and neither should you Mr. dud.
I think that what I should have said is that if you don't like the look of things at Seed Surf don't shop there. I do like the look of things so when I'm down that way I will.
As for your choice of wave craft, thats it, its your choice.......

Thanks for the constructive criticism!! As far as imitation goes I’m pretty sure Mollusk doesn’t shape, glass, and finish their own surfboards, skateboards and print their own tees. So if the thing you pick up on is the sign in the shop then we’re stoked. I wanted the shop to bring together creative people down here in Cornwall and bring a bit of community to it, but if you think that’s ‘bland’ that’s your opinion. But maybe as you are ‘the dude’ you should open your own shop so we can rag on that!!
