Surfers from around the UK will be donning their tuxedos and boardshorts for a special fund raising evening to be held in Newquay. The event at the Carnmarth Hotel on Friday the 1st of May will raise money towards sending the English Surf Team to Casablanca, where they’ll compete against the world’s best surfers in the European Surfing Championships.
I’m really excited about the Black Tie Event. It’s the first time it has taken place and we hope to raise enough money to send the junior surfers on tour
The night which will include a luxury three-course meal, live music from local artists and a fundraising auction, has been organised by students from Cornwall College Newquay, who are also planning the English National Surfing Championships.
Event Manager, Gabrielle Broad, said: “I’m really excited about the Black Tie Event. It’s the first time it has taken place and we hope to raise enough money to send the junior surfers on tour. Currently confirmed for auction are spa day passes, photo shoot sessions, zoo and aquarium tickets and many more prizes to bid on! As the event is a fundraiser, any further offers of help, prizes or donations would be gratefully received!”
