Varazze on Italy’s north coast is one of the few places in the world, if not the only one, where you can really surf at night. With powerful 8000W floodlights positioned right on the jetty in front of the main peak, you can extend your session in the water after sunset, when often you’ll find the best waves.

The sea stretches, the crowds disappear and the wind turns from the ground shaping the perfect waves that make the main peak of Varazze famous across the world.

During a nice winter swell, Roberto D’Amico has been waiting for the headlights to shine and extend his session after sunset, at first sharing the line up with a few other surfers until he was left completely alone in the water and free to surf the best waves of the day… or night.
